About Me

About the name:

It's a play on words...

Kiss'n - English slang for kissing

Kissen - German word for Pillow

I was born and raised in Southern Bavaria, Germany, where tradition and craftsmanship are part of daily life. As a child, I fell in love with needlecrafts—embroidery, weaving, sewing, knitting, anything thread realated. When I moved to the United States as a young teenager, these skills became a comforting thread between my old world and my new one. Creating with my hands has always been part of who I am.

For more than 35 years, I worked in the corporate world. It was challenging and rewarding in many ways, but it left little room for creativity. Needlecraft became my outlet, a way to recharge and create beauty for family and friends. When health reasons led me to retire earlier than expected, I found myself at a turning point. With the encouragement of loved ones, I took a leap I had always dreamed of—turning my passion for handmade work into a business of my own.

I have always loved making pillows. To me, they are the perfect combination of art and function—decorative, cozy, and endlessly versatile. Each piece I create is one-of-a-kind, designed with care and intention. No two are ever the same.

Sustainability is at the heart of my work. Millions of tons of fabric end up in landfills every year, often in countries already burdened with waste. To do my part, I source most of my materials from thrift stores, fabric mills, and deadstock - fabrics that would otherwise be discarded.. Upcycling these fabrics gives them new life, reduces waste, and makes every item I design even more unique. Please visit my Sustainability page.

In today’s world of mass production, I believe handmade items carry a special value. They tell a story—of the fabric’s past, of the hands that crafted them, and of the person who brings them into their home. My hope is that when you see my work, you find something that speaks to you and your decorating style, something that feels personal and lasting.

None of this would be possible without my family. My husband and I are celebrating 35 years of marriage this year. Together we raised three wonderful sons, and today we are proud grandparents of six incredible grandchildren. Their support and encouragement gave me the courage to take this step, and their love is the foundation of everything I do.

Life has truly been a journey. From Bavaria to the U.S., from a corporate career to early retirement, from a lifelong passion to a new business, each chapter has brought its own challenges and joys. Through it all, creating with fabric and thread has remained my constant.

Thank you for visiting and for supporting small, handmade businesses. I hope you find something here that not only adds beauty to your home, but also carries with it the care, creativity, and purpose with which it was made.
